Election update
I just got this election update from the Board of Trustees:
——————
TO: Candidates for Election of Trustees by the Alumni
As you are aware, balloting is underway for the election of trustees by the alumni. I thought it would be helpful to provide a status report on the process including the balloting results. Ballots were distributed on April 10 and as of this writing, over 19,700 alumni have exercised the privilege of voting. While not unprecedented, this speaks to the heightened level of interest in the election this year. Reminders will be sent to those electors who have not voted on April 20, and a final reminder will be sent on April 30.
All votes received as of 9 am (Eastern) on Thursday, May 3, will be counted. In accordance with the Procedures for the Election of Trustees by the Alumni (a copy of which was provided to each of you along with the notification of candidacy), two judges will be appointed from among the membership of the Board of Trustees to receive and count the votes. Additionally, we are engaging an independent audit firm to oversee the voting tabulation process. The certified report of the ballot results will be announced at the public meeting on Friday, May 4. A copy of the report will be provided to all candidates.
Additionally, Karen Peetz and Keith Masser, Chairman and Vice Chairman of the Board, respectively, have asked that I advise all candidates that they plan to attend the Meet The Candidates event facilitated by the Penn State Alumni Association on Saturday, April 21, in the Intramural Building’s Gymnasium #1. They look forward to meeting the candidates in attendance. Additional information regarding the event can be found by visiting http://alumni.psu.edu/news/2012/more-than-60-alumni-candidates-will-attend-saturday2019s-201cmeet-the-candidates201d-event — signage will invite alumni to enter the IM Building.
I hope this information is helpful and I want to thank you for your continued support and interest in Penn State.
